BARCELONA

Barcelona, the second-largest city of Spain and the capital of the Catalonia region, is often referred to as the business center of Spain. It is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and enjoys a mild climate throughout the year. Founded by the Carthaginians more than 2,000 years ago, it keeps a rich historical heritage and deeply rooted cultural traditions. With 1992 Olympic Games, Barcelona underwent a dramatic renovation of its public and private infrastructures, which is still ongoing, becoming one of the most modern cities in Europe, and a top tourist destination, probably the trendiest.

Barcelona is located near the French border and is between one and three hours' flight to all the main cities in Europe. Several U.S. Airlines fly direct from different U.S. cities. An air shuttle to Madrid facilitates connections with other intercontinental flights.

Barcelona has a long tradition as a meeting destination. It is home to world-famous scientists and physicians, and has five major universities. In recent years the city has also become a hot destination for product launches, corporate meetings and incentive travel, thanks to its cutting-edge facilities and multiple leisure and cultural attractions.
The Barcelona Fair Grounds offer 200,000 square meters of covered exhibition space, including a Conference Center in a centrally located site of historical interest. The Olympic Ring, with the Olympic Stadium and Sant Jordi Arena, is a unique venue for large conventions, product launches and incentive programs. A new private Conference Center was opened early 2000 with auditorium for 2,100 delegates. In addition, there are more than 50 public and private auditoriums and 28,000 square meters of meeting space in hotels.

Barcelona offers 17,250 bedrooms in 180 hotels, with new projects for another 6,000 rooms in the city itself and 4,000 in the near surroundings. They range from classic to avant-garde design. At least a dozen offer large meeting facilities with capacity for medium-size and large groups. Several international hotel chains manage large properties here.

2002 will be the Year of Gaudí, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of the genial architect with numerous exhibitions and special tours of his works, including those usually unavailable.
2003 from 16th to 27th July: World Swimming Championship.
2004 from 23 April to 24 September, Barcelona will organize the 1st Universal Forum of Cultures Barcelona 2004 under the auspices of UNESCO. Through five months of debates, exhibitions and artistic festivals, Barcelona will be a huge stage open to the creativity and   dialogue of all the people in the world.

TARRAGONA

In December 2000 Tarragona was recognized and declared WORLD HERITAGE by UNESCO.
Our extremely rich historic legacy meant that Tarragona was already within the heritage of humanity. However, the seal of officially recognized cities and places was missing. From now on, the light of our star will shine brightly alongside key places to emulate the greatness of the cultures of the blue planet.

Tarraco, the Roman capital that was home to emperors and from where the Citerior Hispania was governed. The Imperial town that administered territories spanning from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean, this is the Tarragona of today: a Mediterranean city, lively, competitive and emergent that welcomes us once again after two thousand five hundred years of hospitality.

Warm, friendly people, superb facilities and a myriad of breathtaking landscapes (The Cistercian Route, Route through the lands of The Ebro) together with its cultural inheritance make Tarragona the perfect spot for your next event; Culture and Congress. Incentive and meeting managers will find a wide range of recreational activities here. Nautical sports, tennis, golf and the Universal Studios Port Aventura Theme Park arc all easily accessible.

Close to Tarragona, the wine region of "Priorat" exports wines of international prestige throughout the world. These wines, when  combined with the typical gastronomy, invite us to enjoy traditional dishes in the Mediterranean atmosphere of Catalan folklore.
Location: One hour flight from Madrid, a 45 minute drive Barcelona Airport and a 10 minute drive from Reus Airport.
